Sharks by nature are not only predators, but highly intelligent species as well. When sharks do attack it is usually one of 3 possible types of attack. The deadliest of the shark attacks is a sneak attack where the shark attacks humans without warning. These attacks usually result in severe injuries and the death rate is high. The shark will attack repeatedly. It is believed these sneak attacks happen when sharks are provoked.

Another type of attack is hit and run and usually this happens in the surf zones, due to poor visibility and physical environments, it is a case of mistaken identity. The shark does not return for another attack and the result is usually a slash wound or a single bite, which is rarely life threatening.

The 3rd type of attack is bump and bite, which happens in deep waters and victims are most commonly divers. Sharks will circle and bump the victim prior to the attack and the injuries in these types of attacks are more severe and there is a bigger rate for fatalities. Unprovoked shark attacks are extremely rare, but you can find them on www.sharkvideos.net
