Sharks also have strong sensory organs on their nose to pick up electrical signals, such as those generated by muscles when moving. Any movement in water catches their attention that asks for an inspection. Often the shark that attacks a human will take one bite and then go away.
Attacks are also caused by the provocation by humans. The temptation to get close to the animal or to touch it or even at times harass it can make a shark retaliate by an attack. Attacks also take place when sharks get attracted by flashing images, blood or erratic movements.
